Until one night, when Soviet officials broke into his house, he ripped off the comfortable life his family was feeling. Divorced from her father, forced into an overcrowded and dirty train, Lina’s mother and her younger brother slowly headed north, across the Arctic Circle, to a labor camp in the coldest part of Siberia.
