A young couple is invited to Morocco to meet the whole family

Benoit is in debt and once again has to ask his rich parents for help. His plan to get money: trick them into believing he’s marrying his model friend Emily. When Emily cancels her ride to the airport, Benoit decides to call Fiona, a boisterous Uber driver, instead.

Just… Read all. This movie was very simple and bland which made it feel like an American comedy.

This was quite refreshing for a French comedy, although not the type I like

French comedies usually start out funny and suddenly become dead serious before the end. Not this. No one has a hidden side – Benoit remains clumsy and cowardly from start to finish.

His siblings are greedy and downright evil

The Fake Bride has no social graces from start to finish. Only the parents are the same rich and confused couple you see in most French comedies. They were the least interesting because their arc is completely predictable in this kind of movie.

His future is a regular Sunday evening movie on French television

However, I’m glad I have an unlimited movie pass because ticket prices have gotten so high at the cinema that I’d be miserable if I’d spent a lot of money on it.
