With an estimated budget of €429 million, The Count of Monte Cristo is the most expensive French film of 2024
Tale
After escaping from an island prison where he spent 14 years for being wrongly accused of treason, Edmond Dantès returns as the Count of Monte Cristo to exact revenge on the men who betrayed him. When Albert watches Hydee sing and play the guitar, it’s very obvious that he’s not even touching the strings half the time.

It’s very good and keeps the pace of a long film very well. The actors did their role well with the right amount of emotion.
I wanted to give 8* but I couldn’t
It’s very good, but not quite excellent. The camera is very good, great at times and adds to the emotions of the story.
It’s worth seeing and on the big screen
I disagree with reviewers who compare the movies to the original classic novels. They are two different mediums and both have flaws and advantages.
