Variety reported in January 2023 that director Samuel Theis was expelled from filming after a crew member accused him of rape

The alleged sexual assault occurred halfway through filming, after a party held in an apartment with the cast and crew on July 1, 2023, according to the French newspaper Liberation. The crew member spent the night in the apartment where the party was held due to his state of intoxication and was allegedly raped by Theis in the early hours of the morning.

The filmmaker, meanwhile, claimed that it was consensual, according to Liberation

For the rest of the production, Theis remained on location but directed the film remotely.
