Mainly the casting

The series is an adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross. Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997’s Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and led Lionsgate to scrap the previously planned sequel Double Cross. Amazon’s series is starting with a few problems.

Alex is a good choice!

, if you’ve read all the books in the Alex Cross series, you have your own picture of the incredible characters that come to life right off the page. As with many Cross novels, they just don’t get the characters right. But John Sampson should be a much bigger man.

Like a wide, big, football player

I relate to this Alex as my Fav Det Cross. The kids are okay at a younger age. But Mama Nana is too young, and I see her as a thinner lady, with a BIG personality, who always cooks, good, cozy food!

No, packaging, carrots and celery

Her meals in a warm, older, kitchen were so well written, I could taste her slipper and biscuits! Maria only has a small part and she was also not what I imagined her to be. Do I hope she meets Bree Stone?

The music is distracting, and I see the friendship between him and Sampson, but it’s not as strong as in the novels, I still enjoy it, and the serial killer fits, one of many that Det Cross has to bring to justice, it’s just the plot is a little confusing, and the killer is revealed pretty quickly, I hope the show had a 2nd, 3rd and 4th season so that we can see the actors grow into their stories from the novels. They are the heart of Cross’ success! Thank you Amazon for bringing Alex Cross to Prime!
