Season 1 covers the first 30 chapters of the book "Wave" – the book has 82 chapters
Tale
The men and women live in a giant silo underground with a few rules they believe were put in place to protect them from the toxic and broken world above. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about. The floor fans in various episodes spin in the wrong direction when it comes to the orientation of the blades.
Spinning this way doesn’t push or pull any air
Featured in WatchMojo: Top 10 TV Shows of 2023 You Should Be Watching (2023). The books in the Wave trilogy are among the best books I’ve read. I was extremely hesitant to watch Silo because I had such a vivid internal vision of this post-apocalyptic world from the books and I didn’t want to spoil it.
I mean, the framework is there, the events and the basics of what made the books great
That being said, I’m halfway through the first season and it doesn’t resemble the books in the best way! However, most of the detailed storyline is completely new and embellished and fills in the gaps of things that were hinted at or left out in the books. What I’m happy about is that I still have a different version of the books in my head, and the show as a new fun version.
So much of it was as I imagined it
I have to say, they did a PHENOMENAL job with the casting and the sets. But the differences set the book apart and I love that. This is probably the first time I’ve been happy that a show isn’t like the books, but I still really enjoy the show.
Super well done!
